Job Description

HVAC/R Engineer
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mobile Engineer with strong HVAC/R experience to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of facility systems. This role requires technical expertise across HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical systems, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and minimizing downtime.

Key Requirements

  • Experience in commercial refrigeration and commercial HVAC/R preferred
  • Strong knowledge of 480V 3-phase electrical systems (required)
  • Availability for call-in work and participation in an on-call rotation
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites

Job Summary
The Mobile Engineer operates, inspects, and maintains HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production systems across assigned facilities. This role ensures equipment operates efficiently and safely while proactively addressing maintenance needs to minimize downtime. Responsibilities also include general facility repairs across interior and exterior areas.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Operations

  • Perform preventive maintenance and respond to repair work orders
  • Operate and maintain HVAC/R systems, electrical distribution, plumbing, and production equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair facility systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Conduct facility inspections and report conditions impacting operations
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment history

Safety

  • Complete hazard assessments and follow all safety procedures
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas
  • Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and safety standards
  • Complete required safety training and practice defensive driving

Administrative Duties

  • Submit P-card receipts daily
  • Update work orders in real time using CMMS systems (e.g., Corrigo)
  • Perform vehicle safety inspections
  • Escalate issues to management and clients as needed
  • Attend required meetings and trainings

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in building engineering or related field
  • Strong background in HVAC/R, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of system design and applications

Certifications

  • Universal CFC certification - EPA
  • Additional licenses as required by local authorities
  • Trade school or apprenticeship experience preferred

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong troubleshooting and technical skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications (Word, Excel preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
